In addition to working with crystals, Angels and other Galactic beings such as Andromedans, Carita also uses Reiki to provide energy healing.

What is Reiki?

Reiki (originally from Japan) is the name given to an intelligent universal healing energy that is available in abundance across the universe. The Reiki practitioner channels this energy through their hands to you (the client), and this in turn activates your body’s natural ability to heal itself. The energy goes to where illnesses have their origin and works wherever it is most needed, releasing blocked energies, cleansing the body of toxins and working to create a state of balance. Reiki also works on balancing your chakras (major energy centres in the body) to ensure your life force energy flows well. Balanced chakras are vital for overall health, happiness and wellbeing. Reiki works on the whole person - the physical, emotional and spiritual levels. It’s a safe and natural form of healing and can be used in conjunction with all other medical treatment. Reiki can also be used on animals, plants and even objects and places.

How a reiki treatement is given

What can be treated with Reiki?

Because it is a cleansing and healing energy, Reiki has positive effects on all forms of illness and negative conditions and energies. From ailments such as aches and pains, colds/flus and stress through to conditions like obsessive behaviours, anxiety, cancer and post-traumatic stress disorder, even metaphysical problems such as past life trauma or unexplainable night terrors – Reiki can help. There have even been some miraculous full healings completed around the world thanks to Reiki but this is rare. At the very least, most people experience a reduction in stress and an improvement in their overall mental and physical wellbeing.

The benefits of Reiki are being acknowledged in all walks of life. The US Defence Force use it to aid in the recovery of returned service men and women suffering PSTD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and even our own police force are investigating it as a potential healing modality for their injured personnel.

How is a Reiki treatment given?

Ideally, you – the client – lie down on the massage bed (fully clothed), but treatments can be given while you are sitting or standing if you prefer. You close your eyes and relax, breathing deeply, soft music plays and if you prefer, a blanket is also provided. During a Reiki session, the Reiki energy flows from the practioners hands. The practioner places their hands on or near your body in a series of hand positions (as shown in the image on this page). This typically includes crown, forehead, chest and stomach areas, knees and ankles. Depending on your needs, other hand positions may be used and each position is held for varying times (typically between 3mins to 10mins). A session lasts between 45 min – 90min. Carita works alot with crystals so often they find their way into the healing session too.

What does a Reiki treatment feel like?

Everyone experiences Reiki differently but basically everyone finds it deeply relaxing and many drift off to sleep. Some report a sensation of running water flowing through their bodies or being surrounded in a glowing loving light; others report seeing colours, feeling sensations of heat or cold, having mystical experiences and visions; and some experience a feeling of heaviness as their muscles relax and all tension leaves; occasionally they don’t experience anything at all other than a surprisingly good nap.

What can you expect in the days following a Reiki treatment?

Because everyone seeks out Reiki for different reasons and each experience is unique, the days following a Reiki session also vary. Reiki energy goes where it is most needed and encourages us to let go of tension, anxiety, fear and other negative feelings. Because of this, physical and emotional blocks are also released and this may leave you feeling lighter or more emotional than normal for a day or two. Others experience a slight headache for a day, others have vivid dreams and some report to have amazing insights and unusual co-incidences take place in their lives. But typically, you’ll sleep incredibly well that night and within 1 – 3 days you’ll feel refreshed and have a brighter, more positive outlook and feel balanced, grounded and whole within yourself.

As your Reiki practioner, I always follow up with you a day or two after your first session. I advise my clients to be gentle with themselves in the days following a treatment. If you have any concerns about what you experience in the days after your treatment please get in touch with me.

How do you make the most of Reiki?

After a Reiki session, drink plenty of water for the rest of the day and if possible do not have any alcohol or illicit drugs for 24hrs.
To get the best results - a course of 4 sessions (in the space of 6 weeks) is best, followed by monthly or fortnightly treatments to maintain your wellbeing. When sessions are regular and frequent, your body gets accustomed to the Reiki energy, and so each subsequent session is stronger and your body opens up quicker resulting in better healing. Regular sessions also help to keep the negative energetic build up (which we accumulate in our daily lives) to a minimum and is a preventative measure against future illness. Infrequent Reiki sessions, although still effective, results in a slower process of healing.

It's like going to the gym - you can't go once and expect to be fit for the rest of your life.

Additionally - the more responsibility you take in managing and protecting your own energy between healing sessions - the greater the benefit.

What is distance Reiki?

Distance reiki refers to the process where you get to go about your day and the practitioner sends you the reiki energy. Ideally - you want to be able to co-ordinate a time where you are both available. This way you can rest for 1hr and open yourself up to receiving the reiki energy whilst the reiki master sends it to you. This is ideal as receive the healing energy can make you feel light headed during the session. But if you are not able to do so, you will still receive an effective healing. Carita has a number of clients in Darwin, Perth & Brisbane despite being located in Sydney. So if you can't come into the clinic - that's not an issue.
